About Melinda
Growing up in Zanesville, Ohio, I immersed myself in the world of painting and fine arts, experimenting with textures and colors from an early age. After earning my BA and MA degrees in Art Education and Fine Arts from Kent State University, I embarked on a journey to Minneapolis, where I had the privilege of working alongside master printmaker Steve Andersen. This experience broadened my understanding of the professional art world and inspired my own creative endeavors.
During my time in Minneapolis, I also had the opportunity to collaborate on projects at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, ND, where I further refined my skills and expanded my artistic vision. It was there that I met my husband, Aaron, whose passion for glass blowing brought us back to Central Ohio.
Now residing in St. Louisville, Ohio, I continue to explore my love for painting while teaching. Working alongside Aaron in our home studio, we find inspiration in each other's mediums, fostering a dynamic creative environment.
My artwork, influenced by my travels and experiences, reflects my fascination with textures and surfaces, capturing the essence of nature and world culture.
